Central Asian Studies Institute

The Central Asian Studies Institute (CASI) is an interdepartmental research unit at the ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥, established in 2011 with the mission of promoting the study of Central Asia locally and internationally.

The Institute Education (IOE) is an interdisciplinary academic entity of AUCA – dedicated to teaching, research and advocacy of education at all levels and in trans-cultural contexts.

Presidential Research and Education Fund

Established in 2019, the Presidential Research and Education Fund (PREF) is a unique initiative to foster innovative research and educational activities at the ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥ (AUCA). The purpose of the PREF is to provide crucial support to faculty, students, and staff for a wide range of projects, including seed funding for new initiatives, multidisciplinary research collaborations, and student-led projects. The fund promotes academic and research excellence, innovation, and community engagement by providing resources for projects that align with the University’s strategic priorities, such as advancing interdisciplinary research, enhancing student learning outcomes, and addressing pressing social and environmental challenges in Central Asia. With a strong emphasis on encouraging creativity, the PREF is an essential resource for the AUCA community to bring new ideas to life and drive positive change in the country and region.

Tian Shan Policy Center

TSPC conducts research on migration, sustainable development, and environmental protection, protection of human rights and democratic governance; organizes seminars and conferences devoted to the most important problems of the Central Asia region.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

AUCA Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews research proposals to ensure that the rights and well-being of human subjects used in the research study by AUCA-affiliated students, staff, and personnel are protected.
The goal of the reviews is to ensure that all possible risks are minimized while the potential benefits are maximized; that human subjects participate on a voluntary basis after being provided with informed consent; that AUCA-affiliated research is conducted in that manner that is ethical and non-maleficent.
