Dr. Mukaram Toktogulova is an Associate Professor of the non-degree General Education program at the ֱ. She received her Ph.D. in Philological Sciences from the Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences (2001, Kyrgyzstan).

Dr. Toktogulova joined AUCA in 1999, and she was a Research Fellow at Indiana University (2018, USA), a participant in the EHESS Islamic Education in post-Soviet Kyrgyzstan program (2015, France), and the Crossroads Asia Fellowship (2013, Germany). She was a Fulbright fellow at the University of Pittsburgh (2011, USA), a visiting fellow at the University of Kansas (2007, 2009, USA), a resource faculty member of the Regional Seminar of Excellence in Teaching “Building Anthropology in Eurasia” (2007), and a visiting scholar of the Program on Central Asia and the Caucasus of Harvard University (2004-2006). She attended various professional conferences and seminars, such as the Seminar of Research Design for CARTI Grantees (2007, Hungary), the Regional Seminar on Excellence in Teaching: Teaching Islam in Eurasia (2006, Russia), and the Course Development Program for AUCA faculty at the Indiana University in Bloomington (2003, USA).

Dr. Toktogulova is a member of the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS) and a member of the European Society for Central Asian Studies (ESCAS).
