Our Summer School on 鈥淐hallenging Human Rights Issues in Central Asia鈥�, which was organized jointly with the Development Office and the International Business Law Department and sponsored by the Open Society Foundation, has ended. But let's recall together how it passed with us!

The main purpose of the Summer School was in the period from June 19 to June 30, 2023, the participants from different Central Asian countries, such as Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan attended modules that were developed by the IBL department鈥檚 professors. The courses used a traditional method of lectures and seminars to study the Human Rights problems faced by Central Asian countries. During the training, the following topics were

- 鈥淗uman Rights in Central Asia in the Context of International Crimes鈥� presented by Saniia Toktogazieva- Associate Professor of the AUCA Faculty of Law;

- Human Rights in Art鈥� presented by Elida Nogoibaeva - Department Chair / Associate Professor of the AUCA Faculty of Law;

- 鈥淗uman Rights and Technologies鈥� presented by Kanykei Kasybekova -Assistant Professor at the AUCA Faculty of Law;

- 鈥淗uman Rights and Corruption in Central Asia鈥� presented by Dinara Asanbayeva - Assistant Professor at the AUCA Faculty of Law;

- 鈥淐ombating violence against women in Central Asia鈥� - presented by Jannat Kovalchuk - Assistant Professor at the AUCA Faculty of Law;

- 鈥淗uman Rights and Investments in Central Asia. Human Rights and Environmental Challenges in Central Asia鈥� presented by Begayim Esenkulova-Associate Professor of the AUCA Faculty of Law;

A joint trip was planned as part of the Summer School, which took place from July 1-3 to the Issyk-Kul region, where participants studied the topic 鈥淪trategic Human Rights Litigation presented by Lana Kulik 鈥� Assistant Professor of Public Relations at Thiel College.

On July 2, the Closing Ceremony of the Summer School took place, where Bermet Tursunkulova-Director of the Development Office, congratulated all participants and presented our participants with certificates of successful completion.
