Student participation at conferences provides an excellent platform for showcasing research skills and exploring new ideas. Recently, Meerim Beishenkulova, a senior student from the Department of Applied Geology, had the opportunity to present her work at the prestigious international conference, Central Asia GIS Conference - GISCA 2023 and Project Workshops "Geospatial Approaches to Understanding the Changing World." With the guidance and mentorship of Dr Ormukov Cholponbek, Meerim delivered a compelling presentation on the topic "Analysis of Land Use Dynamics based on GIS in Bishkek."

The conference served as a forum for Meerim to unveil her scientific research findings, which she had diligently conducted in collaboration with her supervisor. Her presentation centred around a pressing issue facing the city of Bishkek: urban planning and the environmental situation.
